Imah Dumagay, who hails from Mindanao, Philippines, joined stand-up comedy circuit in Dubai after graduating from a comedy school in March 2018.

In just a few months of doing gigs, she entered a comedy contest Yalla Laugh’s Beat The Camel and won first place. She also won Judges’ Choice 2nd Runner Up – International Category in Dubai Short+Sweet Comedy Festival 2018.

Within eight months of starting out Imah got her big breaks where she opened for famed Indian comedians Zakir Khan, Anu Menon (aka Lola Kutty), Nitin Mirani, and Anshu Mor.

She was also one of the Dubai-based comedians featured in One Africa’s Global Comedy Fest 2018 in Festival Arena Dubai, where she performed alongside some of the best comedians from across Africa, among others, Basketmouth, Eric Omondi, and Kenny Blaq.

She has also opened for the UK comedians Axel Blake and Mandy Knight.

Imah appeared in the smash hit comedy play “Just Like That”, a play with humorous take on everyday life in a Dubai high-rise (JLT) in both runs in 2019 & 2021.

She was also one of the comedians featured in Comedy Adda by ARY Digital and Tall Tales Production in 2019.

In August of 2020, she hosted the King and Queen of UAE Comedy Ali Al Sayed and Mina Liccione.

After over 200 gigs, Imah finally performed her first sold out solo show, Imah’s Day Off in November 2020, making her the first Filipina to do so in the GCC region. In March 2021, she performed her second show, The Shelarious Imah; and in September 2021 she performed another hour “IMAH: A Dose of Laughter. All the shows were held in one of the major venues in Dubai, The Theatre Mall of the Emirates.

Imah has long loved Humor — making herself and the people around her laugh with her very fun and energetic personality!
